Benjamin Sheares Bridge, longest bridge in Singapore, is located in the Central Region. Completed and opened in 1981, it honours the second President of Singapore, the late Dr Benjamin Henry Sheares, who served as the President from 1971 to 1981. It arches high above land reclaimed from the sea and provides a speedy connection between Changi Airport in the east and Shenton Way in the heart of the business district. This expressway bridge also links Marina Bay and Marina Centre, Rochore Road and Ophir Road.
